What is “Raw” Oil?
CBDa & CBGa are naturally occurring in the resin glands of the hemp plant. Cannabidiolic acid (CBDa) & Cannabigerolic acid (CBGa), are referred to as “Raw CBD & Raw CBG” or the unactivated form of CBD & CBG. When CBDa & CBGa are heated (decarboxylated), the molecular structure changes by breaking down the acid group of the molecules into what is commonly known as CBD & CBG.
Why should I take “Raw” Hemp Oil as opposed to CBD & CBG?
We know all of these terms can be confusing at times, especially when the Cannabis/Hemp Plant produces between 80-100 cannabinoids and about 300 non-cannabinoid chemicals. Some of the different cannabinoids you may be familiar with are CBD, CBG, THC, CBN, CBDa, CBGa, THCa, among others such as CBC, THCv, CBDv, CBDm, CBDc1, CBDva, and the list goes on. We have only hit the tip of the iceberg when it comes to researching all of the major and minor cannabinoids. Each cannabinoid profile contains its own chemical structure, how its used, and a list of potential therapeutic benefits. We stress “potential” because even though we understand that some of these cannabinoids can help people, there haven’t been actual clinical trials on most of them, so we can’t officially make any health claims.
In a nutshell, “Raw” (CBDa, CBGa, etc) Hemp Oil has some different therapeutic benefits, as well as some of the same benefits as the decarboxylated (heated) cannabinoids such as CBD, CBG, CBN, etc. You can find a plethora of studies online about many of the cannabinoids, as well as the therapeutic potential of each of them. These two “Raw” cannabinoids (CBDa, CBGa) have just been in the news a lot lately, and for good reason. Since we cannot make any health claims, we recommend doing your own research so that you are aware of the potential that each and every cannabinoid has and the therapeutic potential of every one of them.
CBDa & CBGa are now seen as the next frontier in cannabinoid-based therapy. Both cannabinoids are in raw form and contain major therapeutic potential. Researchers are hopeful that CBDa & CBGa could reduce the need for medications that can cause long-term side effects while improving people’s overall mental and physical well being.
